Avanti MicroLCS Search Applet Demo

This is the Avanti MicroLCS search applet. Your browser must have Java installed in order to run it. Depending on network speed it may take a moment to load.

The search interface is clean, simple and extremely easy to use. To do a search, select title, author or subject from the drop-down list, then enter your search word(s) in the text field, and click on the Find button. You are searching a small database of about 1,500 titles. There are no holdings in the demo currently. The demo database will be expanded int he near future to be an example of a typical installation.

Try title and/or subject searches with the words Chicago architecture or electronics for starters. Then try searching on other words. Some good ones that return hits are engineering food microprocessors science french cuisine beer brewing cookery pasta and aviation. Use whole words -- wildcarding isn't working yet. The more words you search for the narrower and more refined your search will be. For advanced searching try the full boolean search capabilities that MicroLCS supports.
